Landscape Structures

I took the designer’s initial concept of a cover and a few sample spreads and fleshed out the design across a 240‑page catalog. Responsibilities included selecting photos to feature, approving scatters, attending press checks and adjusting the layout to accommodate new products each year.
The first half of the book featured playground ideas. I selected one beauty shot from the photo shoot gallery, plus any additional shots needed to tell the story and highlight any unique qualities about the playground.
The back half of the book was more technical, listing the various components that could be used to build a playground. Each year I had to figure out where the new products belonged, and how to fit them into the layout.
Over the course of an 11‑year relationship, the catalog evolved, changing size and format. This required a large redesign of the layout, working with the copywriter to fit copy, and working with the printer to make the most efficient use of the press sheet.
